A decision on whether Scotland’s Six Nations fixture against France will take place as scheduled this weekend will be made on Wednesday.

Ten France players have tested positive for coronavirus ahead of Sunday’s clash in Paris, with captain Charles Ollivon, Cyril Baille, Peato Mauvaka, Romain Taofifenua and Brice Dulin all returning positive tests in the round of testing undertaken on Sunday.

Tournament organisers released a statement on Monday to say a meeting would take place on Wednesday to decide whether the game would go ahead as planned or “rescheduled for the earliest possible date”.

“A meeting of the Six Nations Testing Oversight Group (TOG) took place [Monday] to review the situation in France in relation to the COVID-19 outbreak in the French team,” the statement read.

“The TOG will rec onvene on Wednesday 24 February in the evening to review the situation. A decision on whether the France v Scotland fixture can go ahead will be made at that stage.
